Cookie policy
This policy explains how Move & Clear uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, and how you can control them. It should be read with our privacy policy, which explains how we use your personal information more generally.
- Essential: the forms on our site use Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam and bots, and we store your cookie choice in your browser. These are always on.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used, but only if you accept. It is off by default and nothing is sent to Google Analytics until you say yes.
- We do not use advertising or social media cookies.
- You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences and to give website owners information about how a site is used. "Similar technologies" include things like local storage and tracking pixels, which work in a comparable way. In this policy we say "cookies" to cover all of them.
2. The cookies and similar technologies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are needed to provide the service you have asked for, or to remember your cookie choice, so they do not need your consent.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cv_consent (browser local storage, not a cookie) | Move & Clear | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask you on every page. | 12 months, then we ask again |
| _GRECAPTCHA (and similar reCAPTCHA cookies) | Google (google.com) | Distinguishes real visitors from automated programs on our forms, to protect them from spam and abuse. Loads only on pages with a form. | Up to about 6 months. Google controls the exact names and durations and may change them. |
Google reCAPTCHA may also collect information such as your IP address, browser details and how your device interacts with the page, in order to decide whether you are a person or an automated program. This is processed by Google under its own privacy policy and terms.
Analytics (only if you accept)
If you click Accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google. It helps us understand how many people visit, which pages they view, how they found us and which devices they use, so we can improve the site. We use this information in summary form to understand usage. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not link it to the details you give us in a quote request.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (on our domain) | Gives each browser a random ID so Google Analytics can tell returning visitors from new ones. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<container ID> | Google Analytics (on our domain) | Keeps track of the current visit (session state). | Up to 2 years |
Google says Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The data we collect is held by Google on our behalf and is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, which we set to no more than 14 months. Google may process it outside the UK; see the transfers section of our privacy policy. If you reject analytics, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising, remarketing or social media cookies or tracking pixels. Our fonts are stored on our own server rather than loaded from a third party.
3. Our legal basis
We only set analytics cookies if you give your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. For strictly necessary cookies and technologies we do not need consent: we use reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam, which would otherwise put the security of the service at risk, and we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping our service secure (see our privacy policy).
If we later add other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy before doing so.
4. How to change your choice or delete cookies
- On this site: use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page, or the button at the top of this page, to accept or reject analytics at any time. If you reject after accepting, we remove the analytics cookies we can reach and stop sending data.
- In your browser: you can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete some or all of them, and block cookies from particular sites or from third parties. The ICO has guidance at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Google provides a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics collecting data on all websites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
If you block reCAPTCHA or Google cookies, the security check on our forms may not load, and you may then be unable to submit a quote request. If that happens you can contact us at leads@yorkshireseospecialists.co.uk instead. More about how Google uses cookies is at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If the changes affect your choice we will ask you again.
